Two Ways to Make a Copy of a Word Document 

Method 1: In Windows 

Here is how to duplicate a word document by copying and pasting it into Windows: 

  • Firstly, right-click the Word file you want to copy. 

  • Then, tap the “Copy” option from the menu.

  • Now, choose the location where you want to save the copied file, such as on Windows, external hard drive, USB flash drive and more. 

  • Lastly, right-click it again to choose the “Paste” option from the menu. Voila! You're done. 

Method 2: Open the File as a New File in Word 

Here is how to duplicate a word doc by opening it as a new one and saving it: 

  • Right-click the Word file you want to duplicate and choose the “New” option from the menu.
